Today is the second day of Summer Splits challenge 2014 (#summersplits2014) . The pose that we are supposed to picture is Prasarita Padottanasana. As post c-section the only exercise I have gotten is walking, my hamstrings and glutes are feeling really tight! It felt great to lengthen these muscles... Since this is my 4th week post c-section I created a mini flow by repeating the pose from day 1 before getting into today's pose. That way, I can slowly build a flow and get back to yoga.
I am excited. I love yoga and being able to share the gift of yoga with my baby is amazing. My favorite new thing is to practice with her. I love to practice right after I nurse and bathe her because she gets in a very zen mood. She observes what I am doing and I like talking to her while I practice. Today as I reached down to Prasarita Padottanasana, she gave me a big smile!
Today I also started a more strict diet while breastfeeding. I had a naturopath prescribe a pre and postpartum diet while I was home in Brazil earlier this year. However, I decided to wait to get started until my milk supply came in. I am feeling a bit more tired than usual, but hopefully the diet will not affect my milk supply.
