Holy Yoga for Advent Week 3

This week is our final week of preparation before Christmas. As we draw closer to the celebration of God's birth, we are reminded to make room for Christ. It is not the right time to hold on to hatred, sadness, anguish or any type of negative feelings. Today's focus is on letting go. Christ wants to dwell in your heart, but if you are burdened with negative feelings there won't be space for Him. Through our practice, we symbolically let go by pulsating in asanas instead of holding them for long periods of time. We also use a few minutes during class to dance freely and explore our space and bodies. As you work on physically letting go, you might want to meditate on the following question:

What are you holding on to which is taking up space that should have been reserved for Christ? 

The bible says we should let go and be forgiving towards one another (Ephesians 4:31-32) and that we must forget what has passed and must instead focus on what is ahead (Philippians 3:13-14). Once you understand what you are holding on to, I want you to practice sending you the person/ situation who has wronged you or bothers you love and peace, and then kindly letting them go of their thoughts. Simply let go. It is ok. It is the past.
